Goal

The goal of Sastra Dana is to facilitate those who are interested in helping in the distribution of Vaishnava literature. According to Vaishnava tradition, transcendental knowledge is the best gift one can give.

Distribution

Donated books are placed in libraries, schools, prisons, hospitals, government offices, dentists' offices, and nail and hair salons. Sastra Dana members also distribute books to relatives, colleagues, and friends.

How to participate

  • By sponsoring books
  • Coming up with creative ideas for getting donations or for distributing books
  • By distributing the sponsored books
  • By telling others about the program

  • Donations to Sastra Dana are tax deductible (receipts available upon request)

Results

Rupa Manjari is organizing this program at Radhadesh of freely distributing books free of charge supported by donations from the temple and congregation. Since beginning Sastra Dana in March 2008 thousands of books have been distributed.
