More photos of Nityananda's Appearance Day
We had a really lovely day here at Radahdesh yesterday on Lord Nityananda's appearance day.
The Deities had a beautiful new green and red outfit made by Nikunja Vasini Devi Dasi. The altar was beautifully decorated on the theme of “The Marketplace of the Holy Name” with many fruits with signs to describe them. It was a very nice display, envisioned by Krsna Sakti Devi Dasi and implemented beautifully by Krishangi Lila Devi Dasi, Rick, and Reda.
The morning class was given by Gopinatha Acarya Dasa. During the class he emphasized the role of Lord Nityananda in spreading the process of Krishna consciousness in India, and how lucky we are to be able to take part in such a simple, joyful, and spiritually enlivening process.
After class there was a bathing ceremony (abhiseka) organized by Ahovalam Nrisimha Dasa, Dhira Krsna Dasa, and Ramacandra Kaviraja Dasa. It was a very sweet occasion, with nice melodic kirtans led by Jaya Nitai Gaura Dasa and Rama Kesava Dasa. At 13:30 the feast was served, with the pièce de résistance a huge gorgeous cake made with Hungarian expertise by Nilkunja Vasini Devi Dasi.
In the evening Yadunandana Swami led the singing of Gaura Arati with great gusto. Then there was a drama by the college students about the pastime of Lord Nityananda's saving the two drunken brothers, Jagai and Madhai. At 20:50 Vinode Manjari Devi Dasi led the last arati with an angelically sung bhajan in honor of Lord Nityananda. Afterwards they continued singing well into the early hours of Friday morning.
