Sankirtan is an important part of Vaisnava culture. Literally speaking sankirtan means to chant the glories of God (Krishna) congregationally. It means, quite simply, to spread the glories of God. For devotees of Krishna-sankirtan can be done in different ways, one of which is distributing literature (books, magazines, etc).
